Inspiration trip to Los Angeles

BOBA. The end.

No, I'm kidding, but if BOBA tea was all that was left in this world, I would be one happy woman. If you don't know what that is it's pretty much an iced, blended smoothie/tea with a huge straw to slurp tapioca balls through it. Yes they are soft. Yes they are squishy. No, they do not taste like anything. And no, therefore they serve no purpose except for making the slurping the best experience EVER.  I'm from the midwest, so unfortunately there isn't much of BOBA around here. Why you might ask? Because people around here are too busy socializing over "FROLFING" (something that I just discovered a couple of weekends ago-disc golfing). Maybe when all else fails, my calling is to open up a BOBA cafe or something. Hmmm.... we'll see.

In the midst of all my affairs with BOBA, I spent 4 days at the Los Angeles Dream Center Leadership School which was my main reason for flying out there (and this is the part where things get REAL, and I get serious).

I met some amazing people who have the hearts to serve the Los Angeles city with compassion and so much grace. From watching the single mom's kids, to hanging out in the projects with more kids, and meeting that "one" person who has been redeemed from a life of prostitution or homelessness-that's all it took. The solid foundational and spiritual strength of this organization only comes from one reality; the reality of unconditionally loving someone who can't understand love because they were never believed in or cared for, or worse yet-abandoned. The reality of that love being poured into our hearts from a God who does care and in fact died because of His love for us. It was that reality that sunk deep into my soul and stirred something inside of me. Seeing the reality of the need face to face shook me to the core and I didn't want to lose that that sense of urgency.

  1.  I also had the joy of spending some time with my family who I haven't seen for a while. My aunt and her partner have lived in Los Angeles for the past eight years and just two years ago they opened up DOWNTOWN DESIGN LEAGUE in Downtown Los Angeles. They specialize in designing and making custom, hand stitched, pure leather shoes- one of a kind. They are creative, inspiring, and risk taking; they are doing a new thing in the city of Los Angeles in their area of expertise. Check out their website and all the beautiful things that they offer here>>>>>

I wish I could say more, but it wouldn't do it justice. I'll be back....for more BOBA.
