You are the author of love

"It's not my strength that earns Your love but in my weakness, You show up- over and over and over again. You are the author of love."

Every mountain I think I can't face, You've already gone before me and paved the road-not that you promised it would be easy, but that I would look to you to show me the way.

People will fall at my sides- but you still call me to run up that mountain. Not that you promised it would be easy, but that I would learn not to compromise Your call for my own comforts.

My muscles might grow weak and may even give out sometimes, but Your voice still echoes from the distance calling me to run up that mountain. Not that you promised it would be easy, but that I might learn to take more paced, deep, breathes along the way.

The heat from the sun may burn a little stronger leaving me thirsty for more water, but you still see me running up that mountain. Not that you promised it would be easy, but that I would be aware of when I need to take those moments of rest to refresh myself along the way.

Fear may try to rob the joy of completing every mile, deceiving me to look at what I have left. But You still call me to run up that mountain. Not that you promised it would be easy, but that I would remember your faithfulness and how you’ve gotten me this far.

Doubt might creep in making it seem like I am not capable of getting to the top. But you still call me to run up that mountain- not that you promised it would be easy, but that I would learn Who makes me steadfast and where my source of confidence comes from.

Father, I will stay with you. You are my reward. All that I’ll ever want. I find that I’m fully satisfied when I’m near to your heart.
